Are you ready for the 4th of July?
Have your shorts ready?
No?
I went to the thrift store with my friends where we bought some baggy, ugly, jeans.
We took them home and drew on them with soap to know where to cut. Make sure to leave them plenty long in case you need to cut some more off! Next you need to bleach them for twenty minutes by placing them in a bucket with bleach mixed with water. After twenty minutes rinse them with soap, then throw them in the dryer.
Next all you need is masking tape and some foam star stickers! Don't forget the paint of course, I'm sure you can guess what colors you'll need...
This is where you can get as creative as you want to. I googled some different looks and found some that I liked. Once you have the design in mind start creating!
Put the stars down wherever you choose, then blot the paint on. DO NOT BRUSH!!! Because it can easily get under the stars. Next place your tape going the way you choose (Vertically or Horizontally) then paint by brushing or blotting.
Then remove the tape to see your amazing design!
Now for the back... The picture above is one of my friends shorts, she only did the back and they turned out adorable!
For mine I did the tip top of the pockets with stars. Again masking tape is very important, especially for the back.
Lastly I added some vertical stripes and my shorts were complete!
Happy Fourth Everyone!
